The Actors’ Hub @ Fringeworld 2024
January – February 2024
Fringe is once again upon us. And, as before, The Actors’ Hub is presenting four new shows starring the Hub recent graduates and students. Each show is completely different and challenges the actors in different ways.
“When The Actor’s Hub says they are serious about developing actors in every sense – they aren’t joking” ★★★★½ Fringefeed, 2021
"The Great Collapse" (Jan 24, Feb 1, 9, 17):
When forests world-wide begin retreating back into the Earth en masse, the panic button is pressed and a secret coven gather together to address the great collapse that threatens the survival of humanity.
The show is created using the Actors’ Hub’s unique process: the actors are given a premise and tasked with the challenge of creating a character before the story is written and then the writer writes them all into a scenario which becomes the script.
"ODE" (Jan 25, Feb 2, 10, 14):
Edward Albee's "The Zoo Story" (Jan 26, Feb 3, 7, 15):
“ID" (Jan 27, 31, Feb 8, 16):
An explosive physical theatre performance, “ID” immerses us in the dizzying heights and, at times, suffocating lows of real people’s lives. It dives deep into the heart of IDENTITY. Who am I? Why am I? Who are you? Can we ever truly know someone?
Using verbatim theatre, “ID” offers a completely truthful 360-degree view on people’s thoughts around the topic of identity in our current culture. It is a bold, charming, explosive, honest, (sometimes flamboyant) exploration of what makes you… you.
“The Zoo Story” is presented by arrangement with ORiGiN Theatrical On Behalf of Samuel French A Concord Theatricals Company
