GAP Program Auditions Perth
Starting the GAP Program does not begin with an audition.
Instead, it begins with a conversation.
The process is designed to give you clarity, not pressure. As a result, you can take your first step without feeling overwhelmed.
Step 1: Eligibility Interview
The first step is an eligibility interview.
This is not a performance. Instead, it is a professional conversation about:
-
your goals
-
your experience
-
where you feel stuck
-
what you want from acting
Because of this, you do not need to prepare anything complicated.
👉 Book your interview below by completing the form.
Step 2: Invitation to Audition
After your interview, we will guide you toward your next step.
If the GAP Program is a strong fit, you will be invited to audition. However, not everyone is asked to audition immediately. This ensures that you are moving forward at the right time.
Step 3: Preparing Your Audition (Self-Test)
If you are invited to audition, you will complete a self-test audition.
You will also be assigned an audition specialist, who will guide you through the process and help you prepare your strongest work.
Step 3: Supported Audition
What You Need to Prepare
Your audition consists of three parts:
🎬 A Film Scene (Self-Test)
-
Choose a scene from a film that includes another character
-
The other character should be read off-camera by another person
-
Ensure the reader is clearly audible
-
Choose material that suits your age range and emotional connection
🎥 2. Framing and Performance Notes
-
Camera should frame you from head to waist
-
You may sit or stand, depending on the scene
-
Do not restrict your performance because of the camera
-
Make strong, committed choices
🎤 3. Introduction (Full Body Shot)
At the start of your video, include a short introduction:
-
your full name
-
your age
-
where you are from
This should be filmed as a full-body shot (head to foot).
🗣 4. Personal Statement (2 minutes)
Include a short personal statement covering:
-
your acting or performance background
-
your experience so far
-
why you want to train in the GAP Program

What We Look For
We are not looking for perfection.
Instead, we are looking for:
-
honesty in your performance
-
willingness to take direction
-
commitment to the work
-
potential for growth
Many actors come in after time away from acting. That is completely fine.
Support Through the Process
You will not be doing this alone.
Your audition specialist will:
-
help you choose appropriate material
-
guide your preparation
-
introduce you to the self-testing process used in the industry
As a result, you gain experience that is directly relevant to professional acting work.
What Happens After
After submitting your audition, you will receive clear guidance.
This may include:
-
an offer to join the GAP Program
-
a recommendation for another step
-
or advice on what to develop next
The goal is always clarity.
